A Heart for a Heart !

The spiral starts with fury's sting, "An eye for an eye," the echoes ring. Blinded by rage, we fail to see, The kindled flame that burns for thee, Will lick at us with equal might, Leaving a world devoid of sight. The whispers turn to shouts unheard, "An ear for an ear," a broken word. Deafened by anger, we cannot tell, The other's plea, the sorrow's knell. Misunderstandings fester deep, In fields where seeds of peace don't sleep. The gnashing teeth, a primal cry, "A tooth for a tooth," a vengeance sigh. We tear and break what we hold dear, Leaving a wasteland, void of cheer. Progress halts, its engine cold, As vengeance takes the stories told. But hark! A different voice rings true, "A heart for a heart," a world anew. With empathy, we mend the tear, Replace the hate with love and care. Understanding's bridge, so strong and wide, Across the chasm, let kindness ride. So let us choose the path of grace, Where love forgives, and hearts embrace. For in that space, where shadows fade, A world of light and hope is made.
