A Generation Past

Listen to poem:
the world runs forward in leaps and bounds leaving a generation in its dust for better or for worse the brain rewired for the race to progress my father's vision of a static future abandoned in potato fields time not slowing down for anyone caught in loops spinning at the speed of light i've lost connection with my father's ways the years gone by i reminisce of one forgotten generation past the lure the beauty the fantasy of its simplicity AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Submitted on September 30, 2020 for contest COMPLETELY YOUR CHOICE (19) sponsored by BRIAN STRAND

I like the way you portrayed time accurately.

Much food for thought here, Line. Appreciated... I often wonder if this 'racing forward' is getting us anywhere. Seems we have less time for each other than ever. G. L. in the contest and best wishes, Gershon

Thanks Gershon. I think we know the answer to that one ~ being retired is extremely satisfying in an attempt to simplify and tame the beast of time ~
