A Generation Past
Listen to poem:
the world runs forward
in leaps and bounds
leaving a generation in its dust
for better or for worse
the brain rewired for
the race to progress
my father's vision
of a static future
abandoned in potato fields
time not slowing down for anyone
caught in loops spinning at the speed of light
i've lost connection with my father's ways
the years gone by
i reminisce of
one forgotten generation past
the lure
the beauty
the fantasy
of its simplicity
