A Friend In Need Coolidge

Inspired by the painting: 'A Friend in Need' by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge (dogs playing poker) The acquisition of that winning ace Will not be detectable on my face If I play it calm and steady We can win even more than we have already The pipe smoking fellow's eyes passed over me I pause, thankfully he didn't see It's sleight of hand and dexterous paw (Also needed to outrun the law) Play it cool, the timing's key Has to be a believable winning spree The crucial point is very near Mantra 'no fear, no fear, no fear' When it's done I'm leaving town You can't keep a good bad dog down 2nd place

An amusing telling of the story behind the painting. Well done and most entertaining. John
