The second poem I posted was entitled "Forgiveness" so I had to come up with a different title.

Forgiveness is a reed, bending in the wind A harvested fruit tree, bearing fruit again A forest consumed by fire, thankful it's been thinned But most of all forgiveness is the ultimate revenge an original poem by Daniel Turner

I tend to forgive too easily does that mean I'm vengeful Daniel? I dearly love your first three lines in this poem. Like A. Pope said.. to err is human; to forgive, divine. I adhere to that. Great writing Daniel. I am heading for bed now...Nite! ; )

Truth interspersed with nature is a beauty unto itself...you have outdone yourself with this profoundly expressive piece, in so few words. I love the "magnitude" of it's true definition...once fully understood...it's power to change lives is endless. Excellent writing, a most inspiring read. blessings, lynn

I agree DT...turn the other cheek...you might not like what they do but if you lower yourself to their level you lose.

When I was younger, I struggled with turning the other cheek. Now that I'm older, I realize I made the wrong choice. Thanks Tim. I appreciate your visits and comments.

Hi Danny. You're not odd at all in the writing of your last line. We're not to seek revenge because it's not ours to take. But in forgiving we can heap fiery coals on the heads of others, and in so doing we free ourselves from revenge and hate, hoping they see the error of their ways. Very insightful of you.

Lin, that was my late dad's favorite saying,"Heap coals of fire on their heads" (Proverbs 25:22). Not insight my friend, good parenting! Thank you for the treasured visit!
