Reflect on the essence
of being a spiritual being.
Amongst the pain and confusion
of life and death,
there is also hope and love.
And a feeling of freedom
that permeates the human heart,
buttressing the poorest foundations
to carry the weight
of higher expectations.
Miracles only happen
to those who believe they can.
Sometimes looking back
shows a distorted image of reality,
more a reflection of a fantasy,
filtered through the passage of time.
When hate cannot reshape yesterday
it tries to erase tomorrow,
by penciling in the shadows of today.
Bigotry's jagged edges
cut deep as any knife,
bleeding the heart of love
and the soul of hope.
Color is a human concept,
it means nothing to God...
or a dog!
