A Father's Cry
I cry out to my God that He draw near
to her again the way they once embraced,
for surely none would question all my tears,
nor see a father's anguish as misplaced.
This torment that lies deep within the breast
would seem to spring up from a place of good,
yet darkness is the source of this distress
when brought forth to the light and understood.
For if I place my hopes and fears in Him,
I must also entrust Him with her care,
believing all will work out in the end,
and of my pleas, He is not unaware.
Still, for my baby girl and me, I shout:
Increase our faith, Lord, banish all our doubt!
