I felt the first stab of pain in my back-
like a knife stabbing me over and over and over
then the pain spread to my chest, my arms
     I was sweating
       I was soaking wet
a moment of panic because I just knew I had moments
I picked up my cell phone
                  and dialed 911
the person on the other end wanted my name and address
          but I could not speak
               I whispered "ambulance"
I could hear her saying stay on the line but I could not
I went to my sofa and was sure this is where I would die.
Not sure how long, moments, minutes, I was gasping for air
                          then the door opened
                             the paramedics had arrived-
but I could not talk, their voices were mumbled and far away
"Miss, you are having a heart heart" . . .
then there was a rush, siren blaring, fast and faster we flew
I could hear voices saying I would be alright
my clothes were being cut off me
                and then it stopped-
I was wandering in a dark void of nothingness . . .
