A Cup of Tea

I hear the tea pot singing With the amber liquid sizzling I see spouts of vapor ejecting With sweet aroma spreading A cup of hot steaming tea Revives us on every morning As we sip it when we scan the news We feel the early languor lifting Nothing like a cup of well blended tea For a tired soul to enliven his body Its delicious taste and delicate fragrance Make it everyone’s lovesome buddy A heavenly drink for the torpid minds A beverage brewed from the best of herbs A magic potion for the feverish lips Which in tiresome hours, everyone yearns Tea time is the pleasant family time How we babble and burble over a cup of tea Drawing people closer, cementing relations Sure, it’s a time to look forward with glee Submitted for- A Brian Strand Standard Choice Poetry Contest Placed First April.22. 2022 Placed 9th Anything You Want- New Poetry Contest Sponsor- Chantelle Anne Cooke

Brilliant! Tea definitely needed its own piece of poetry. The power of a cup of tea, for me everything feels better with a Yorkshire tea in hand, it has to be Yorkshire tea though.

Hardly almost nothing strikes a hot cup of tea in the morning to get you out of bed and moving. Valsa, I wish you all the best of success in the contest.

I was never a tea drinker until about ten years ago and now I really like it. There are so many wonderful blends that are healthful to us. Sweet poem.

I take tea only once a day. A mugful plus a sandwich plus a handful of multicolored pills. No time for any news, I'm always too busy.

Tea is everywhere, especially where you live, and it is a medium that facilitates social exchange --as you have so wonderfully described. This is a lovely ode to tea, Valsa.

We mostly drink iced tea here in the south but occasionally I will drink a cup of tea. I like it with a couple of cookies. Mostly in the cold months we drink coffee which is the same gather around and enjoy the conversation kind of gift. Your works reads like a good contender to me for the contest. Way to go. I appreciate the visit to my page. Sara
