A Christmas Card
Letters unsent,
to people…
that wish they had received them.
Maybe not write away,
or all at once,
but eventually.
Harsh words spoken,
throughout the year,
people with a past…
they can not leave.
Maybe something;
they are dragging behind.
Turn and check.
A piece of paper,
a range of size(s),
to make you laugh
or cry
or say; “Hi!”
The postman still has a job,
he goes all around,
passing out bills,
and ads,
and spam,
and junk mail.
Yet every now,
and then,
a card in the bin,
to someone,
it makes,
a difference to.
A pleasure to deliver,
a greater one to receive.
A thoughtful note,
a kind expression,
of a love…
tender and lee.
(lee… the safe side of a stone)
