A Child's World
The glorious mornings came not for you
Yet, brown eyes of yours claim them as treasure
For you alone suns rise and fall in blue
To show the world your silhouette's measure
Giving your soul to its days brighter cause
You bind your heart to this circling orb
Told the red sky to make the evenings pause
Chastised the darkness when light was absorbed
Given your joy for the light of the day
The times you cursed the dull gray with its rain
I let you run long in meadows and play
From this my son it's my heart you sustain
Let your joyous soul find sun's precious light
I'll hold your tired body 'til sleep at night
