Earth is a place of beauty and wonder,
hosting a slew of creatures, big and small.
But butterflies are hailed among Nature's
masterpieces, as unique works of art.
Caterpillars morph into winged fairies,
through the magic of metamorphosis.
And live phantasmagorical paintings,
in all colors of the rainbow; take flight.
Splendiferous delicate filigree
intricately guilds iridescent wings.
And silver, blue, green, and crimson combine;
into abstract patches painted by light.
Taking Her art to another level,
Nature is an unparalleled artist.
And as a testament to Her talent;
a butterfly in flight is breathtaking.
