A Blitzing Christmas
Listen to poem:
Season of bliss
Season of giving with desire
Desire to cherish Christ’s birth
Desire of a silent night
Night filled with gratitude
Night of calmness and peace
Peace given with ease
Peace is granted with serenity
Serenity found in a child’s smile
Serenity in a snow-capped pine
Pine cones gathered in my yard
Pine scented candle glowing
Glowing lights hung on my house
Glowing tinsel strung on my tree
Tree chopped down by my Papa
Tree filled with handmade ornaments
Ornaments passed from generations
Ornaments hung with caution and care
Care given to the hungry and cold
Care embraced in benevolence
Benevolence given to the homeless
Benevolence found in bounty
Bounty in breaking of the bread
Bounty in a meal made by Grams
Grams prepares warm apple crisp
Grams hands out love to grandchildren
Grandchildren opening gifts from Santa
Grandchildren making angels in the snow
Snow of white falling from heaven
Snow revealing a white Christmas
Christmas Eve arrives with jingle bells
Christmas Day will bring accordance
Accordance found in loneliness
Accordance mends broken hearts
Hearts filled with laughter
Hearts receiving humbly
Humbly asking for forgiveness
Humbly thanking God for Jesus
Jesus gives gifts of hope
Jesus bestows compassion
Compassion to the heartbroken
Compassion leads to harmony
Harmony brings reconciliation
Harmony spreads joy and delight
Delight in a kiss under mistletoe
Delight in welcoming hugs
Hugs given from me to you
Hugs received out of love
Love…
You.
