A Blessing Came To Us
A blessing came to us one day taking the form of an old would cross
Nailed to it was an innocent man who had been condemned to die
I was young when I first heard of this and I thought what did this man do
What crime did he commit to evoke such a visceral rage
This man fed thousands of people, gave a blind man back his sight
Made well the sick and lame and brought a dead man back to life
As I learned more I discovered the truth; he gave his life for you and me
For my sins and for yours is why he had to die
For my sins and for yours Gods son gave his life
So the blessing that came to us by way of that Old wood cross came to us a sinful world at a terrible cost to God
