Did you hear in the news? Yes, it’s true! A police officer knew what to do. A stabbed man with a wound Could have died very soon But didn’t when saved with a bag - Whew! An emptied bag of chips and some tape Used before it became too late. The cop stopped a life mess And taped the bag to the man's chest Which saved the man’s life and fate.

very informative/descriptive, but apparently useless knowledge unless the victim lived.

Hi Joanna, Thank you for your thoughts! This really happened and the news story inspired this poem. There is a lot of negative press regarding USA police officers that do not do the right thing, and I was inspired when I heard the story about this conscientious, caring, and innovative police office. - Gail

Thank you so much Gail. Plus, Happy New Year. I just posted items, there are no mistakes in the Universe. I used to think chips & trash from fast food - especially as I'm in South Africa as missionary - were a blight. You reminded me, as pollution also does, we humans can use tools to save or destroy. Peace, anil deo
