Silent Sanctuary
" All the tears I cried were gathered to the sea
and transformed into a beautiful pearl holding my dreams"
Quote_ by Poet
I walk barefoot in the sea strand
heart hushed in hallowed reverie
as I watch the quiet movement
of the swift shifting sand
sinking to the sea;
whilst the scarlet sun sails on
to meet the tranquil tawny twilight.
I run to chase the wee waves
rippling in the soft silken shore
and swim beneath the silvery sea
hoping you will meet me halfway
in a nocturnal pelagic rendezvous.
Alas, I wait in vain~
and so I utter a silent prayer
as I open my arms to embrace the silence
echoing from sullen sacred sigh.
The calm course of the cold water
murmurs melodies from long ago~
soaring in the skyline
down to the sea bed
where all my tears gathered
since I learned to cry;
And there I found~
a gem nestling in its bosom~
sheathed in a shell,
a lonesome pearl
where all my dreams dwelt.
