Ekphrasis on Vivaldi's Spring
a vivacious veil of violin
awakens the sleepy field~
the sky breaks into birdsong
and as tulips stretch wide
I behold petals pirouette
kissed by the morning sun
as rhythms rise~
celestial scents fill the air,
whilst the breeze
brushes her almond cheeks
that bloom on first of May
and as the cadence softens,
I hear Spring’s susurrus laughter
in cascading notes of effulgence~
Oh, my soul begins to resurge
in perennial bloom.
