True friends are those who lift you up when no one else even noticed you were down.:

Things aren't always what the seem "I'm Fine" Pretended to be happy although I was falling apart inside "I'm Fine" The years have passed, I am still with tears "I'm Fine" The pain rises like a huge volcanic mountain "I'm Fine" I have never chosen this pain, and it will never blow "I'm Fine" At lonely nights, fear and taste of blood in my mouth "I'm Fine" You can't just give up and say you're done "I'm Fine" 19.04.2017 Sun :) - A-L Andresen :) Copyright © All Rights Reserved Dedication to my "old friend" Dan Kearly ... f.e.f. :)

In this busy world we live in and things have become almost robotic, and words have become just that, easier then it is to say 'I'm fine', people really dont care to listen anymore. True friends have learned to listen to a tone of voice to know though. A 7+++

Great write Anne-Lise, sometimes there are just no words to describe what or how you feel and you often don't have the energy to figure it out anyway, also we don't want to burden others with our problems. A superb seven.

Those two words really are misleading. It's like a curt reply to move on to other things to talk about. One knows in their heart when someone wants to genuinely know 'how you are'. Most are involved in their own busy lives, it has become almost robotic to inquire of ones well-being without sincerely wanting to know. Pain is especially 'uncomfortable' to understand and your words express how alienating it feels, realistically, with great heart. An important thoughtful piece, Anne-Lise:) lynnxxx

Isn't that what we all say because it is so much easier than explaining the reality of our situation. I kind of think people just ask how you are without really wanting to know.... a polite gesture. You were able to expose the pain with those simple words "I'm fine". A great piece Anne-Lise! 7 ; )

Thank you A.L. :o) I came to this site today looking for inspiration. Went to the blogs and found myself upset. Then I came here to read this, and I remember why I started writing. To brighten the world for those who can not see. To give meaning and hope to those who can't find peace. To give a little smile to all those in need. - This weed has very big mouth ... it's a lot of crap coming out .... read some blog today ... always the same poisonous weed - Some weeds are here just to make trouble ... they have long roots ... they are difficult to get rid of :(((

I have said or experienced this on many occasions...I am fine usually means exactly the opposite, pretty much always does with me. Nicely expressed my friend and in today's answer to your title..."I am great!!!!" :)
