Some people think "Imagine" is about retreating from God, Sunshine. Artists are always so misunderstood. Can't believe it's been 40 years since that terrible night. Excellent Tanka! Love, Carolyn

Good grief..40 years ago. I was living in San Francisco then. Anne-Lise, people gathered in a grassy area near Golden Gate Bridge...at night. What a sad and memorable night. There were hundreds there singing, weeping and listening to his music. Through his music, he will never die. Hugs, Pangie xx

When I was kind of "religious" in my youth, I used to not like the song so much, but now that I evolved, I really get what he means by wishing for "no religion" To quote: "All we need is love."

Strange coincidence that a man who favours peace is shot to death, whilst on 07.XII.1941 the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbour and on 07.XII.2019, China reports the first COVID-19 case. Luckily, we can all look forward to RIP! Aloha! Rico

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news of his shooting, I bought his album double fantasy and so many great hits came from that, sadly he didn't live to see it's release. I think he just came home after finishing the album. soo sad, doesn't feel like forty years! Thanks Anne-Lise for this touching reminder!

- Strange to think about, John ... some memories will never disappear :) - Mark Chapman loved The Beatles, but hated John Lennon because he believed that Lennon had failed the group's ideals - One cold December evening, the disappointed American took matters into his own hands ... a tragedy - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
