-the lover in you-

i remember the day love was found,
you and i were all the world had to offer-
when two hearts were love bound,
both listening to the thumping sound
of hearts given to each other-
no-
i’ll never find another lover-
        like you.

i thought of our youthful desire,
and how you touched my soft scars
under moonlit teenage stars-
now these lines on my face still yearn
for those gentle hands of fire,
melting into my soul, I feel it burn,
yet they still touch with ease,
i’m begging you, never stop--- p l e a s e...

i craved a garden,
you planted a seed-
a heart that was hardened,
still a heart in need.

forever was granted so long ago,
and you vowed to never let me go.

i needed you then,
i need you now, still-
    for i’ll always need….
                 the lover in you.

Seems you 'fell of Soup' about when I did, 2020, with a couple of appearances now and then. You've been thru something, or perhaps somethings have been thru you. I pray all 'landed' well. I was reading some poems people had faved & noticed that overnight your name had changed SO here I am. My 'Soup Disappearance Reason' explains much of my absence. This is an emotive poem that made me melancholy sitting inside its feel. Whatever's gone on, your pen more than aptly survived. Poetry hugs ...
