The brass instruments herald the arrival of winter The sky clothed with heavy clouds, drifting in silence Flickering from the silver leaves on frozen branches where the wind harps play tones of blue With magic spells, watch the cloak fall When the stars burn with longing Crystallized snowflakes Maiden-pure snow quiet, soft and slow An inspiring source of admiration and spiritual delight Winters soul, pure and divine - on full display Graceful and evocative tracking the rhythms of the season

Anne-Lise, i repeat my great admiration for your poetry, which does not fail to touch & tell. I did actually pause while reading this to pull forth my memories of winter to FEEL the snow fall & in the halted world, LISTEN to the display of Nature’s/God’s Silence. Perfectly marvelous poetry! Roses at your feet!

What a beauteous wintry poem, Anne-Lise. It is so descriptive with imagery that I feel a little chilly. The accompanying visual is gorgeous too. I replied to your generous review of my lune haiku, but accidently put it in a reply above your comment, but you can read it o.k. Have a lovely weeknight. ~

Anne-Lise, this poem emanates the pure grace of new fallen snow! So many beautiful lines - "stars burn with longing," "flickering from the silver leaves," "winters soul," and "wind harps!" A beautiful romantic feeling sings through each verse along with your intimate knowledge of snow filled evenings! Best wishes for the contest. Just beautiful and soft as falling snow! Blessings and hugs!

such a soft and beautifully descriptive poem about the purity of winter. I loved, where the wind harps play tones of blue' the last verse was mesmerizing. I assume that perhaps wintry weather has arrived in your part of the world. Here in Texas, we rarely get those beautiful, inspirational winters you describe. Lovely job, Anne-Lise, enjoy your evening, Sara
