A hotel room can be sad and old but also stylish and contemporary A room with two beds and a desk a soft chair and one hard chair Phone and The Bible in the drawer Some pictures on the wall of people or places I do not know If I open the window, it's just noise and exhaust the basis of traffic No give me one night or two in a cozy little cabin in the woods Where the bear, fox and moose live And I can wake up to birds singing beautifully Hi ... there is a room available for you at the hotel 12.02.2013 A-L Andresen :)

I'll take the cabin too !!! I spent 9 yrs living in hotels mon-fri of every week on my job. I don't miss them a bit. I really like this poem !!

I particularly like the last line and all the different ways I can think about it. Is it the welcome of the birds? Is it the welcome of the hotel you just left, or is it the voice you hear as you are checking out? Or is it our choice as to where we would go. Also, a "hotel" can be so much more--a place as part of a journey. I'm sure there are many more than escape me.

This is another great write from you my very dear friend. Sometimes it's nice to be away from home to relax and to stay in a hotel is good but sometimes I prefer to stay in cabin in woods or rest houses to feel more the beauty of nature.
