Awesome poem with much-needed warnings about the strength of hurricanes. Sometimes people who don't leave their homes are injured. Congratulations on your great first-place win! Hugs, Carolyn

Well done, Sunshine. It is so hard not to play stupid when it's your home and you want to save it, but it doesn't work that way; the storm wins..

Spoken like a true mama bear. The report, polite warning then more serious followed by a “don’t be stupid” followed by “don’t be a hero” covers all bases a to z!

I can hardly believe the horrible damage this storm did to the Bahamas. I have visited once and the waters are clear and beautiful like Hawaii. My prayers are ongoing for the people in the path of this storm. This is a wonderful entry you have penned for the contest Anne-Lise! I am sure it will be well received. xxoo

Anne Lise. I admire those who live with nonsense evert year. I could not! It's not done damage in the US at all Today. The Bahamas have gotten it worse.. dead, homes mashed.. It's close to Florida but has touched nothing Good luck Anne Lise Panagiota

Thank you for thinking of those in Dorian's path. It is hard to think about what they are going through when I am sitting here in Texas hot but peacefully.
