1st place in the contest

Being present in the moment When the wind blows from a cloud the trees whisper in the gentle breeze A blush of poppies as a kiss from wine-red lips Multiple endless paths to walk between shadowy arches of velvet moss A gesticulating cuckoo placed at the top of the trees Poor bird that has no nest of its own Wish for something ... maybe your wish will come true

ah, a cryptic mystical write with great assimilation and valor Anne, your beauty is unbreakable, so is the bird you speak of, he makes any branch his home, and he is strong, so are you xo

I really like the metaphors you made with your words, Anne-Lise, and I think your poem ended so well. It seems like the cuckoo bird wishes it could make its own special nests like the other birds do. Good luck with the contest

Fabulous lines in poem. Cuckoo does not raise its chicks; the male ones sing well.

I love you fantabulous imagery, Anne-Lise, and I like how your poem ends. Probably that cuckoo wishes it could built original nests like other birds do :) Regards & Hugs // paul
