- Blame -

~ A man can fail many times,
but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else ~
                                       Quote: John Burroughs

                                          A strange sleep
                               behind the sophisticated curtains
                                         An infrared nebula
                                          crossing the sea
                                            without guilt

                                Watching from a safe distance
                                          Extinct animals,
                                 swallows some shining stars

                                          Must stay awake
                                      A unknown voice says:
                                     "tomorrow is cancelled"
                                         - night is shaken

                                             No regrets,
                                         no one to blame
                                       ... need no defense
                                       back everything lost

A great message on blame, with no regrets and no one is to blame but ourselves, and yet a chilling ending. Smashing take on Burroughs quote! Hugs

We should always shoulder our faults and try to do better. Blaming others leads us nowhere. Hugs

Anne-Lise, smart words to quote and write about. We can indeed learn from failure and it can take us to the next challenge if we can accept it. As bad as things get....and the poem has some pretty stark bad stuff...we should only learn from it before we lose everything.

I do like that quote. We are responsible for our own actions and can only learn from our mistakes when we are willing to accept that. Thank you for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page with congratulations. I hope this was a great Easter Sunday for you. Sara K
