SNAKES AND LADDERS* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ slinking silently slithering in the shadows serpent's vicious spite look to the ladder looming long in languid lines life’s lofty ascent

Life is like that, we all need to tread carefully! Do you know that snakes and ladders was actually invented in India by our great Rishis(sages) in ancient times. And also that although snakes are considered despicable ,but we in our sanatan dharma(known to the world as Hinduism), worship them. They are kind of a demi God to us. We even have a festival devoted to the snakes called as Naag Panchami.

Wow, thanks for visiting. I'd read that Snakes & Ladders was invented in India. I've never played but have the American version (Chutes and Ladders). I find it interesting that Hinduism worships snakes....cultural differences fascinate me. Grateful for your comments and visit. wishing you a pleasant evening, Sara

Your haikus are well crafted, depicting in great imagery and humorous style snakes that I assume are frequent to see where you are.

thank you, dear Sotto. Glad you appreciate the humor...alliteration and humor I don't 'do' very often :-) Snakes aren't too frequent here but when we lived in El Paso, rattlesnakes were fairly common....scary...have a great week ahead, Texas hugs, Sara

Such a violent game, and that's just me starting the game.

I've never played the game...in its original form. Played chutes and ladders which I understand is base on the snakes and ladders game.
