My Winter

My winter months are not extreme
For loads of snow, I sit and dream

Of making a snowman with hat and scarf
Throwing snowballs,  having a laugh.
.
My winter is of mist and rain
Frosty patterns on window pane

Pulled out a pencil to try to sketch
The pretty window, that's quite a test

Fading light gives life an eerie glow
Hoping tonight it might just snow

Flurries drift from the sky
Hear the oohs and ahhhs of passers by

Winter is magical whatever the weather
Drinking mulled wine , just being together

Beautifully crafted Seren :) My winter has been a frozen tundra this year...it's not quite as magical with wind chills at -20 below zero!...but I guess it does keep me and hubby together if on!y to keep warm! haha :) Enjoy your wine :)

What a fun poem and your words made me smile as every time I've visited Wales it's rained and rained (we had a friend in Caersws) . I can do without snow as our little Island grinds to a halt and in 2012 we had such a terrible time with so many livestock lost:-( Good luck in the contest:-) hugs jan xx

I agree with you completely my friend! It's all about who you get to spend the glorious time of Winter with! Winter is such fun, but snow is highly overrated, it's not that big of a deal, but when you don't get it, I can see you wanting to have some just to play in and see it's wondrous beauty it bestows! I do like the snow, sometimes it's just glorified too much! What a fantastic write about this fun subject! What a grandiose poem, such a lovely piece my friend, Great Work Seren!!
