A Composing Dick

I think, AI can fool the surface eye, the sun of everyday common day -- the night of charming only twinkle glitter night -- But, what it can’t fool~ is, complex soul spectrum; what it can’t step away from is, its own deceitful presence – the blight of laziness -- felonious poetic fixes. Technology has its place and purpose -- let it not be, to dope one's own creative sense of Fair-play. God, perhaps, considering an AI earth -- populated with robotic integers, squiggles of AI digital worth. Both heaven and hell could be a lot smaller – an entire civilization on one memory stick. Don’t be a shallowly composing programmed dick.

I agree, Joe. I cannot imagine why anyone that even thinks they are a poet, would want to post a poem that is AI generated. After millions if not billions of poems have been written on love, it's almost impossible to write a love poem that is completely new. At least what I write, I know comes from my thoughts on the subject. Have a great week, my friend. Bill

I agree, Bill; AI is not respectable creative writing. In my opinion. Just like, ripping off a catchy tune from Mozart, writing AI words, would not be award worthy -- unless, the award was openly for AI works. I like digital, so called art -- it has a place. Can be very pleasing, entertaining. But unless one created the program, it is further from soulful art. Lazy, in a word. Like plug in motion picture scripts, why the industry product has lost its appeal for many of us. Give new writer's a chance, so there can be more novel, original programs. Like men competing in woman's sports. Those men should be ashamed to accept a trophy. Just my opinion, if I am still allowed that in this manifesting Brave New Liberal Progressive Marxist World.

If one wants to live that way...by all means. That is your free-expression prerogative...but I will call it as I see it. Again, just my opinions. If one feels differently, with a minimum of personal attacks, and vulgar name calling you have an opportunity to state your case in a logical, intelligent manner.

It's plagiarism. I can see where the pop music industry would embrace it, some famous composers ripping off Mozart and Beethoven for years...but, when it comes to poetry, I take person offense. Wanting to keep works purely original as possible. Purely original, can't be done. As we all use forms and patterns of speech that have been previously developed for us. But, Hell -- we should all at least try to make a conscious effort. Now and then showing uniquely original thought (individualized soul). When AI becomes sentient, which it will...that is subject for another day. That's something AI cannot presently do. Is Soup openly allowing AI that is not identified as AI Produced Writing? I think, if AI is being allowed...,it should not be considered Creative Writing. In fact, should be on a computer programming website, and not on a creative writing forum. Just my opinion, my two cents on the subject. Grateful to Soup for giving me means to showcase my own honest works.
