Maybe turn it into a man cave? It’s tough when they leave home. Or you can save it for the grandkids. That will breathe life into it.

Time for expansion...blow out some walls -- yep, we cannot hold on too long to anything of this world, even what is dearly heartfelt. Nothing was ever ours alone, to claim and keep.

Thanks for the wrecking-ball perspective here, Joe. Lol. I guess just like people: When a room's time is up, it's up. ~ Moving on, gw

you captured something poignant and profound...the emptiness when a child becomes an adult and moves away from home....there's both pride and sadness. Well done, sir!

Simple yet poignant — a powerful snapshot of life’s passage and the quiet changes that mark it. ‘Funny how a room dies’ lingers long after reading.

Hi Gersh, In my experience my room died before college then came back to life after marriage. Everything outside in and in-between is speculative.
