Dream Wedding Poems and Vows

Empty Church
The day the earth stood still, bells suspended in the tower, chimes froze in vacant space, nullified the hour. Her veil like spider web, stiff with Winter frost, hung upon the mannequin head, poignant and lost. His buttonhole carnation, a bullet wound lapel, blood red with cautious dying, in the dresser fell. And all the best laid plans unravel seam by seam, faint echoes in an empty church, never more to dream.

Snow-White
Kissed by the waking sun, the rain of the night becomes undone, I dream of you, my daily day dream; and the day has just begun Riding up to Dahisar, I reach yonwards on my bike Adieux I've bid to bachelorhood, looking forward to our petty fights No other can fill my life, only you my wife; my lovely snow-white.

I Shall Not Burn
I have done with love and lust, I reck not for gold or fame; I await familiar dust These frail fingers to reclaim: Not for me the tiger flame.
Not for me the furnace glow, Rage of fire and ashen doom; To sweet earth my bones bestow Where above a lowly tomb January roses bloom.
Fools and fools and fools are you Who your dears to fires confide; Give to Mother Earth her due: Flesh may waste but bone will bide,-- Let loved ones lie side by side.
Let God's Acre ever dream; Shed your tears and blossoms bring; On age-burnished bone will gleam Crucifix and wedding ring: Graves are for sweet comforting.
Curst be those who my remains Hurl to horror of the flames!

The Dream Wedding Story
i remember the long pink gown. the flower's in her hair. she had brown wavey hair. then there was those shiney glass slippers. her family said she looked like cinderella with brown hair. she thought she heard you may kiss the bride. then she woke up and the sound she heard was just the rain outside her window. then she laughed and said wait im already married!

THE DREAMER
Temples he built and palaces of air, And, with the artist's parent-pride aglow, His fancy saw his vague ideals grow Into creations marvellously fair; He set his foot upon Fame's nether stair. But ah, his dream,—it had entranced him so He could not move. He could no farther go; But paused in joy that he was even there! He did not wake until one day there gleamed Thro' his dark consciousness a light that racked His being till he rose, alert to act. But lo! what he had dreamed, the while he dreamed, Another, wedding action unto thought, Into the living, pulsing world had brought.
by Paul Laurence Dunbar
