Elan World Finale - Transcendence

by

"Doctor, doctor! Hurry, please!" said Elaine's mother.

"I'm sorry ma'am, she's in and out of this catatonic state.

There is nothing you or I or anyone else on earth can do.

All we can hope for now is a miracle," replied the doctor.

"As I awake I find myself alone yet unafraid,

a forest creature comes to me and for a while stays.

I ponder how I got back here and why I left this home,

then pull myself up off the ground and set about to roam.

The sky is pure the air is sweet and everything seems right,

the evil that had dwelt here once now dead and out of sight.

My wings are back and soon a gentle breeze begins to blow,

before too long I sail the skies and leave the woods below.

A warm, southern wind guides me to my hillside home,

I ease into an entrance gate adorned with giant gnomes.

The man I'd met my first time here is waiting just inside,

as I approach he welcomes me with arms held open wide.

A banquet room awaits me and all my friends are there,

those who'd helped me in my quest to bring about what's fair.

They rise as one and bow to me then fall upon their knees,

'Elana, Queen of Elan' someone says, 'Silence please.'

I ask them to get up, sit down and listen for a spin,

I stutter 'round for just a bit then say 'Where to begin?

Once I was an earthling girl who never had the chance,

never learned to drive a car and never got to dance.

I've left the earth forever now and here I'll always stay,

your queen shall ever care for you, let's hail this brand new day!'

The party explodes with the sound of grateful Elanites,

envisioning upon themselves transcendent days and nights.

Time to eat before before the sun goes down upon the land,

time to speak of happy things and map out future plans."

"I realize now I can't return to where I lived before-

my future's bright, as if I've stepped right through an open door.

Humanity I've left behind to live here in resplendence,

a path that took me to the stars and keeps me in transcendence."

Thanks for sticking it out Leanne. I still have some tweaks to make but I think the story is worthy of development

Fantastic finale Spock. This story is one of my favourites and who wouldn't want to leave the terrestrial to this other heavenly dimension. In the meantime, David McHattie, you need to put some clothes on...

Fantastic story. I always have trouble writing from a girl's perspective. Everything moved along nicely and I loved the ending. I had to look up 'dalmanutha'. I guess my two years of bible collage was wasted. i hope the length doesn't scare too many people off. You were wise to send out a soupmail. Have a great day my friend.
