Poetry is another language to carry the psyche through the various dimensions of dark and light. It is an abstract built-in mechanism for most poets/musicians whether they write limericks, long tomes, or lyrics, to cope with living and the measures of existing, life and death, love, loss, to understand, to make sense, to find answers, to "feel".

When I was a boy we would pick cicada shells off trees and put them on girls clothing, to which they would scream shrill and be upset. Now I wonder, what mechanism was that affecting the girl, for as a boy I know we would just look at it curiously and flick it off.

You can't fix what isn't broken. You can't mend what doesn't need healing. And you can't make something appear that doesn't exist. That's one of the many mechanics that keeps life moving; that's how life works, and vice versa. You can't appear where nothing exists. You can't heal a wound that isn't there or you haven't gotten yet. And you can't mend something that hasn't been broken yet. Despite how much time you put in or how hard you try, you must first be vigilant before you can be responsive
