I too respect the sacrifice of our soldiers. That said, when I read poems, I look for something surprising. I didn't find much here. You obviously crafted rhymes with great care. The subject is very ambitious, I don't know if I would attempt it. I'd look for something not said about war before, or something said that's been said before, but said differently. I look for a conflicted tone. Bob Dylan's "God On Our Side" presents both enemies thinking they have a divine right to win. Shakespeare's "Henry the II" giving a rallying cry to his troops. Sorry, this needs an "angle".
