I am 61 years old. I recently lost my wife to cancer. I try to write poems to help me deal with the grief I feel over losing her. Her name is Avis, we were married for almost 33 years, and together for nearly 35. we have a son who's almost 30. She was an incredible Wife and Mother. She had recently turned 55 when she lost her courageous battle against breast cancer. Putting my feelings down on paper, writing poems, has been helpful and a cathartic means of relieving the profound sadness I feel.
