Hello all, I joined a couple of days ago, looking for somewhere to post my rhymes. I've posted in the Poem section of a general forum and joined one other Poetry orientated site, which, if I'm honest didn't suit me. The supposedly constructive criticism was more DESTRUCTIVE than constructive and the place seemed full of 'egos', I shan't be going back. Poetry Soup seems like a much more laid back place and I'm hoping to receive more reasoned critiques. I started writing 3/4 years ago after retiring, just to keep the little grey cells active, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I must confess that I'm not well up on the fine points of poeting and I hadn't realised there were so many different forms. I tend to write simple four lines per verse rhymes.
