Contest Description
Thomas Hardy wrote a poem called "Expectation and Experience" about a woman who went to a fair. She had wanted to cheer herself up, but instead became soaked in the pouring rain.
I am taking the unexpected further than Thomas Hardy's idea in my contest requirement... In your poem, tell me about an unusual happening at a fair, one that takes it out of a happy time and makes it not only unexpected, but sinister.
My examplar is "The Man at the Fair", dated 2/20/2019.
What to Submit?
One original poem on the theme of something sinister at a fair.
Any form is acceptable.
