In Orwell's famous book 1984, a totalitarian government rules over a morally bankrupt and utterly hopeless society where fake news and propaganda have become the norm. At the end of the book, the protagonist Winston has been reduced to a mindless zombie by means of torture and brainwashing.
Your mission is to bring Big Brother to its knees. What ultimately defeats totalitarianism? Winston believed the human spirit would overcome. You can approach this from any angle you wish, a mass uprising, divine intervention, corruption from within, even a cosmic occurrence. If not familiar with the book do some basic research or you can simply base your poem on the fall of any totalitarian government, real or imagined.
My poem - The Ghost of Winston Smith may be of help. Must be a new poem. All other admin rules apply. Use any title you feel is appropriate to the theme.
