Heidi Sands Biography

I am a freelance writer and artist living in New England. I have articles published in Woman's Own Magazine, Parentguide News, Our Journey, Franklin Publishing, London Press, and newspapers. I have poetry published in Womankind Anthology and Our Journey. I have five poetry books published at Amazon. A series of three Nature Poetry Books titled, One With Nature in New Hampshire, Dreams With Nature and A Walk Through Nature With Heidi Sands. Another poetry book titled, Hope - with positive inspirational affirmations and a love poetry book titled, Angelic Butterfly filled with 100 Love Poems. All these are available in paperback. Update E Palestine Ohio train derailment impact

Earlier, I put in a few blog topics about the Ohio Train Derailment. It has brought tragedy to the town and has a widespread impact due to the burn of multiple toxic chemicals. The plume from an intentional burn went all the way to Canada. I experienced effects here in New Hampshire. Sadly, the government has not helped people who are trapped there. The media is not covering this catastrophic event appropriately. The streams have been toxic that lead to larger rivers and water supply. Farmland is at risk that lead to our food supply. Thousands of animals in the area have already been found dead. I have witnessed drastic loss of wildlife where I live since February. It is shocking. I live in the woods in the mountains. It is unheard of to see not one single bird in the trees, sky or ground, as it has been lately. It does effect my writing because I write about nature a lot. It is what inspires me. I worry these issues will continue because hundreds of thousands of gallons of toxins are still in the town in Ohio , not secured as they transport them slowly to secured facilities. Weather systems continually stir it up and bring toxins elsewhere. I did start a Facebook Group, if anyone wants to join. It is informative and supportive. Such a tragedy Heidi. These monsters are hellbent on destroying us, the wildlife and the planet. People cant sell their homes to get out of there because of the contamination of these toxins. They will someday be held accountable when they face God...

Thank you for commenting Michael. It is such a tragedy and so much cover up, including widespread effects. Multiple toxic chemicals were burnt together from ditches, instead of cooling and draining for transport. This spread deadly toxins far and wide! Phosgene for instance , is created by these chemicals burnt as it was in the war and it is persistent in the air and travels long distances. The EPA says creeks are ok in OH now, but video now shows them completely contaminated with colored chemicals from soil to water when stirred. Those creeks go to other water ways and drinking supply. FEMA has not helped the people there at all. This effects millions of people. I hope you are well. :)

Can't believe your government is dragging it's heels over this tragedy Heidi. Must be eerie not hearing birdsong where you live. Tom

Hi Tom. I don't live in the town it happened, but the govt. Is not helping the people stuck there at all and leaving it up to the train Company. It is really a horrible situation and widespread toxic issue. They downplay it and keep it out of the media. We have drastic loss of wildlife here. I have never experienced this. My friend was shocked visiting the other day. Usually, birds are fluttering in the woods around my yard non stop. Yes, it is eerie. Some people reported dead Seagull on the NH coast. One man in OH, reported his dog bringing home dead animals like never before. I have had trouble writing because there is such change in nature for now. Thank you for your comment.
