Greetings, from the Great State of Georgia, home of Georgia Peaches and Georgia Pines.

I was born on 17 March 1943 in Dublin, Georgia.  I graduated from East Laurens High School and joined the Air Force in 1963.  I spent 20 years working in the Chaplain Career Field in an administrative capacity.  I retired in 1983 and returned to my roots in 1986.  I worked for 23 years at the VA Medical Center as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Pharmacy and retired on 1 April 2009.  I have two children.  My daughter, Rachel and her husband, Dwayne have no children.  My son Jon and his wife, Carra, have six children.   My wife and I are enjoying retirement and hope to grow old (very old) together.  I enjoy yard work and try to stay busy.  With a three acre plot in the country, staying busy is easy.

I teach a class each Wednesday morning at one of the local addictive behavior centers and on Monday evening at the local Celebrate Recovery chapter.  I co-founded the CR group and have been with it for 10 years.  We began with only 14 and now have an average attendance of 130.

My only real hobby is writing and being a member of Poetry Soup.  I published my first book entitled American Splendor,  in 2016.  I am in the process of writing book number two entitled Why Me, Lord?  I hope to have it in the local Christian Bookstore by mid-Summer.

Thanks, Jan, and Happy New Year to you and yours as well. Yes, the peaches are lovely but what I had originally typed and started to submit could have caused me to be suspended from Soup. That would mean I'd lose contact with you and I can't allow that to happen. Blessings and Hugs from across the miles!
