Funny Memories

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who took part in this contest! I've enjoyed your memories.

Because memories are so precious and unique to each individual, I wanted to give all entrants a winning place. It's nice for everyone to have the opportunity to have their work known further in our poetry community. Especially when the theme of the contest is personal.

May you all smile when you read these special memories.

I would like to give special mention to my three favourite funny poems. The Fancy Dress, April Fools Day and the one about the horse that turned to be A Great Dane. I would also like to mention a fourth favourite poem that was particularly moving ... that is the one about being in love with a stranger. I interpreted this as what it must be like form the point of view of an individual with a condition like Alzheimer's/Dementia. And the husband/wife as carer. For me this raises awareness of the depth of the emotional struggle on both sides when a dear family member is suffering with these problems.

All of the poems were truly enjoyable to read and thank you all again for sharing your memories.
