My biography will be very limited for now.   Here , I can express myself in poetic form but in real life I much rather prefer to be far less forward  I am a 60 year old American citizen , born and raised in the glorious South! A heritage that I am very proud of and thank God for as it is a blessing indeed ~

Currently married to my beautiful young wife(Riza) a lovely filipina  lady and we have a fantastic 7 year old son, Justin ~

I have truly lived a very wild life as a younger man but now find myself finally very happily settled down for the duration of my life~

I decided to rest here and express myself with hopes that it may in some way help others, for I see here a very diverse  and fine gathering of poets, artists, and caring folks~

Quickly finding friends here that amaze me with such great talent~~

I invite any and all to comment on my writes and send me soup mail to discuss

whatever seems important to them ~

Blog, Recently Written Words, Hoping To Revive My Poetic Spirit

Nature's Scenes Cannot Be Outdone

Make a wish upon a dewdrop

Let searching heart decide

Nature's touch, its art never stops

Gazing at its bountiful crops

Life give us all, a thrilling ride

Feed heart and do not hide.

Stroll across land glistening bright

Ponder radiant sun

With heavenly beauty in sight

Washed away are surging blight

Nature's scenes cannot be outdone

Sure, life can be such fun.

As hours fly by, sunset arrives

'fore night's surging deep dark

Cast worries away to survive

'tis so great just to be alive

On tranquil seas vow to embark

Dawn brings its morning larks.

Be jubilant, beauty's heart shows

As treasures fade away

Shall we admire what Nature grows

As Nature its falling gems sows

Hope brings dancing dreams into play

True faith has won its way.

Long Before, New Slung Ink Has Wetted And Dried

Long before, new slung ink has wetted and dried

Even before the radiant sun has earth refried

Mortal soul feels the love of Heaven far above

Bringing relief from "dastardly world's push and shove"

And on that reality, a believer may

Choose to write and splash poetic verses at play

Yes, truth and happy heart are primary key

Poetry is eager sky sharing newborn sea.

Long before, soul sets to its faithful truth express

There resides within a poet that eagerness

To sing a song and lively dance to versed tune

Describe moonlit glory, finding romance in June

And in sharing, another star just may be born

To help a victim and give hope to the forlorn

Yes, truth and happy heart are primary key

Poetry is eager sky sharing newborn sea.

Long before, glorious spirit's deep felt song sings

Are deep falling raindrops that newborn flowers bring

To weeping world, vacate its sorrows and great woes

Just as Nature's flings beauty in its casting snows

And with flung ink, gift others a happier ride

A poet wades in to surging tides set aside

Yes, truth and happy heart are primary key

Poetry is eager sky sharing newborn sea.

Robert J. Lindley, 6-28-2022

Rhyme, ( Heart and Soul, why a poet so faithfully writes )

Note:

Early this morn, my muse this old sleepyhead woke

3 AM crying out wake I command of thee

I have some verses and brother they are no joke

Rise ye now, do as I say - these gifts are free.

Nature is an amazing creation; uplifting and I don't know what we'd do without it. Beautiful that first one, Robert. The second one has great depth, "splash poetic verses at play" oh yes! Excellent.

Thank you, my friend. The act of writing is to me a great release and a true blessing. My cherished hope is that sharing may in some way aid others. Perhaps even help others avoid many of life's pitfalls and its many temptations to so oft lead to immense heartache and disaster. Youth is truly a very perilous time and if one can read about it from others they have a word to the wise how to avoid making disasterious and often very costly mistakes. In my opinion all schools should definitely teach poetry as a regular class, same as science, math, history, etc. ... God bless..

The way we reach out to each other and mutually support has taught me so much about the power of the human heart and soul and one connection to each other. Dear Robert J. Lindley, your poems are beautiful. Be well ~Anaya

Thank you, my friend.Yes, as poets we often see things that are mised by others. Ands we offer support because it is in our nature to do so. In our nature to give unto others and hope that such improves their lives in some way. Writing from heart and soul bears fruit and as it benefits others- so also does it benefit the giver - the writer, imho. God bless..

Thank you , my friend. I pray that ever more and more light illuminates my path going forward. That such blessing nrings me back into a life where I can raise our son and have him be the honorable, courageous man that God wants him to be. Even a poet if he so chooses to be. I too know there will be improvement coming each and every day until life returns to a more normal state of being, state of happiness, etc.. God bless...

Good to see you writing again Robert. Unfortunate that you forgot to enter the contest, but hopefully there will be another appropriate contest in the future. Still praying for you and your son my friend. Our days become not as good as they used to be, but I keep remembering that promise in Revelations.

Thank you, my friend. Your prayers are so truly appreciated as are the great many that I have received from others here. That promise in Revelations holds us to having faith in all things good. In living to help others and praying to better serve God.. Such can only be good and bring forth a much better world. a much happier life when one engages in that course of action/living. God bless....

Thank you, my friend. I too have great hope that life may return to some form of normacy and that I can raise our son to be an honorable man of integrity, grit and courage. As such is needed now more than ever it this very dark and massively wicked world, imho. Writing and presenting this blog was a healing process and I am quite jubilant at just how well it has been received. Very pleased that so many dear poet friends have reead and responded to this blog. That in itself is a very tremendous and very uplifting gift given unto me. God bless..

Your poem is a winning piece of literature for me Robert. It is beautiful. It is a favorite and I will tell you why. When I read it, I feel and see what you have written and I find it to be true. I lost my dad in 2021 he was precious to me. There is a protected park like area near where I live. My wife Judy and my Collie Tavi go to this park. Judy stays in the car and reads the paper. Tavi and I go for a six mile walk to enjoy the beauty of our surroundings, and nature included. I think about the special people in my past including my dad and friends that have passed. This outing helps me escape, and through nature it has a healing effect for me. Your poem is what I see and feel when there. God bless you Robert...

Thank you, my friend. Your escape through communing with Nature, viewing its magnificent beauty and mulling over life and your past is right in line with what Ihave done a great many times myself. Walked the trails, throught the woods- sorting out life and hopefully finding needed answers. Time alone with Nature gives us a whole new perspective on life. One that often helps us find those much needed answers that we are seeking.. God bless...

Robert think for a moment what you have been through in such a short period of time. Your heart has dictated to you and has prioritized healing for you my friend. That has been your focus, and rightfully so. They say time is the great healer, and it is this time that you need to heal. Your love and passion for Poetry will never go away. Your muse from reading this extraordinary work of yours is there, in you Robert. Robert in my opinion and I sincerely mean this. You are one of the finest writers on this Site. What you have achieved in your Poetry we all strive to attain my friend. You are already there. Your passion, talent, insight, thoughts, and words, we all wish to attain.

Thank you, my friend. Your very inspiring words are a gift, a true blessing. Writing has always been a passion with me since age 12. A very serious one since age 15 onward. Life just seemed to give so very many things to write about. Once in my youth for years I composed about 10 or 15 poems a week. Doing so was a true joy, a magnificent release in my troubled young life back then. Now seems to me, that writing just may be key to my recovery yet again. God bless..

Robert, my friend, you are Poetry! These poems are so full of hope - "Hope brings dancing dreams into play ~ True faith has won its way" and "Yes, truth and happy heart are primary key ~ Poetry is eager sky sharing newborn sea." Your poetic spirit is alive and well and a positive force. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. Take care and rest when you can. Write when your muse moves you. Reading your poetry is well worth the wait. ~Mark

Thank you, my friend. Recovery from tragic loss seems to be an uphill battle all the way. With prayer, hope, love, light and my family and friends Iwill eventually get there. But it may take much longer than I want. Writing a bit again seems to help. As it has many , many times before. To me, poetry is in a way a great medicine for both heart and soul! With a bit over 50 years writing my poetry now, I think that it is now firmly in my blood. God bless...

Dear Robert, even though you were unable to place these words in a contest, they are here now upon the page, to be read and felt. It is perfectly okay for your muse to sleep for a while, especially when moments flood the soul. When the time right, words always find you. This is beautiful, tender and emotional, all at the same time. Many wonderful blessings to you, my dear friend. Hugs, Brandy

Thank you my friend. My muse seems to want to wake me from slumber, chide me for my not being more active and then toss me a verse or two. After that, it is on me to follow through with the rest of the emerging poem. She then flees away- oft times laughing at me as she goes into her magical realm to watch from afar. God bless..

Thank you my friend, Iwas very disappointed that I forgot to enter the contest with that new creation. Of course with recent events in my life, things are a bit chaotic and I forget often to do things I intend to do. Add to that my health and old age- seems that forgetting may just be my new unwanted hobby. God bless, always,

I say when your muse wakes you from sleep and tells you to rise and write, you'd better do as she says if it results in the quality of poetry you've posted here. There's nothing wrong with your memory if you can recall the feelings you've expressed through these lines, Robert. They are quite captivating, and to quote you..." Heart and Soul, why a poet so faithfully writes."
