Words unspoken
We send these things, the bits and pieces to those that mean something to us (otherwise we wouldn’t send them at all) to the person that we have never met, we have never seen, or in a lot of cases we have never even heard their voice, but we send them nonetheless. They give us a connection, a realization that we are not alone. A mind meets the tangible where in actuality the connection is completed only between our fingers and the buttons on our keyboard. We “hit” the send button and “mail” our words through a vastness that we cannot comprehend, and yet we know that the receiver will get them. Because in an hour or two, or even in the span of a day … or a week, we get a reply. They send back to us the lessons that they have learned that day, or the feelings they have … not even knowing if we really care. But deep down we do, why would you proliferate a fallacy if it means nothing to you?
So I say …. Take a chance, let the person (whomever they are) that you communicate with via this thing called the web know the real you. I’m not saying that you should divulge to them everything that you are; but at least, don’t hold back in letting them know …. “Who” you are.
You might be surprised at the people that are already in your world that you only knew of as an “address” but can go on to be your best friends, your confidante, and who knows, maybe a person that you can count on in a time of need …. Isn’t that what friendship is?
