What I try to do is communicate with everyone. After all, that's what poetry should be about. So, my stuff is simple and, I hope, easily understood by anyone with a decent education. I love poetry soup because people let it all hang out with their poetic thoughts when other forms of communication hold back. From what I've read, I don't get the idea of a closed shop which so many modern poets seem to inhabit. I speak of the big names. Understand, I don't put state of the art down; I simply don't know the lingo....am trying to learn. Meanwhile, I write stuff that's simple....really off the top of my head.
