There really isn't much to tell that hasn't been covered in my poetry. Love this site, love the new friends I've made. I am a single woman, work full time, family grown and on their own. When I was in highschool all I wanted to do was write. Life got in the way. Now I have all the time I need to indulge my passion.

I'm about to judge my "to Mom" contest but I am very disappointed that a lot of the entries did not follow the simple rules, date written , and it needs to be written to your mom, not about your mom. I had one lovely entry but do not know when it was written ???? so I will not be placing it. Being thoroughly frustrated at the moment I will quietly go away and maybe by some miracle when I log back in tomorrow it ( and others) will have the date written put on them and I can move them into the second round after all....maybe. In the meantime I'm going to have a glass of wine and try to figure out why people don't read the rules of a contest before entering

I'm a little confused. So if someone writes this line: "I love you mom thank you for raising me right" is that correct? (that is NOT a line from my poem just an example)

yes, write a poem as if talking to your mom, not as if talking about her

so I should ignore my own contest rules ??? they don't need to tell me how great their mom is, they need to tell their mom how great she is
