Memories of a Broken Heart

the beauty of each sunrise
is shadowed by the perfection standing here before me
I can no longer hold my gaze upon you
such bliss is painful to my heart
knowing how plain and unworthy
(I must seem)
to be a pebble in the sand surrounded by such perfection
how can I possibly stay
when my hand reaches out to grasp emptiness
for your eyes are focused elsewhere
and my heart lies... bleeding at your feet.. yet still loving you
kill me now and let me dwell in this memory forever
