At Night

I lay awake at night
Staring at my wrists
Thinking with a blade that they must be kissed.
I reach for my phone to tell my friends
Goodnight and goodbye
But good would be nothing but a lie.

I lay awake at night
Looking at the ceiling
I shouldn't be having these terrible feelings
These feelings of hate and anger that take over
I'm only 16 and lm still waiting to discover
Who I am a fighter or a lover.

I lay awake at night
Writing this poem
Trying to get the feeling of knowing
That tomorrow I will put on that fake face again and say
"Good morning how lovely to see you today."
