Shield

A shield surrounds the heart
Not a shield of iron, but a shield of hope
Some are weaker than others
Some are undeveloped and forgotten
The forgotten are weak, lonely, and vulnerable
When something strikes the shield the shield blocks the strike
But a weak shield can have trouble blocking these strikes
But not all hope is lost for a weakened shield
They can be brought back to strength
With the help of others the shield can be revived
But be weary not all strikes can be blocked
Even the strongest have their own weaknesses
