The Darkness Within

Rain falls on the tall rusted gates
The wind sings bittersweet melodies
Like the days before when the sun didn’t shine
Just the dark clouds in the sky

Over and over and over again
I pray this nightmare would come to an end
Not knowing the difference between day and night
This nightmare brings out more of a fright

Lightning strikes the rusted gates
The roar of thunder kills the peace
Just like the days when the sun didn’t shine
Just dark clouds in the sky

Once again this nightmare is alive
Caged in and wanting to survive
To this day it’s hard to tell
If what this cycle is
Is like living in hell

The winds cause the gates to buckle
The fog blocks the abnormal sight
Unlike the days when the sun didn’t shine
The dark clouds that are in the sky

The thickens fog had begun to clear
I can now tell a new beginning is near

Crimson blood runs down the gate
Purifying what once held hate
Very rarely the gates will show
True beauty as white as snow

Unlike the day when the sun didn’t shine
Dark clouds in the sky
I prayed the nightmare would come to an end

I prayed for strength and peace all over again
