Memories

Some memories are thoughts to cherish
They bring the past to view
And make you want to turn the clock
And live the old days anew
To think of times when friends were good
And games were worth the while
Make you feel somewhat relieved
When there is need to be sad
What mars this thought is when sad
thoughts invade
Of times when things were not so good
And you wore an ugly grin
And, Oh! The regret you have
And wish this had never been.
When these come by as sure they will,
There is one thing you can do,
Just make a pledge to be the best
All the time through
And you'll have no regret
To have a view of the past
For happy, happy memories will be yours,
The ones that will surely last
