I Wont Ask

I won’t ask you to laugh
I won’t ask you to cry
I won’t even ask you for a smile

I won’t ask for help
I won’t ask for mercy
I won’t ask for anything

I can’t ask you for anything
I can’t bring myself to do it
I won’t make you change your ways
Just for me...

I’ll never ask you to stay
I’ll never ask you how you feel
I’ll never ask anything of you
That’s just how I am

I never ask because I’m a bother
I never ask because I’m obnoxious 
I never ask because that’s who I am

I won’t ask you to stay
I can’t even say
“Can i stay with you?...” 
even just for a day

I can’t say hello
I hate to say goodbye
Even if it means 
Turning a blind eye

I won’t ask you to call
I won’t ask for a ride
I won’t ask at all

I fear rejection
I fear abandonment 
I fear everything
That I can’t control

I won’t inconvenience you
I won’t make you change 
I won’t be a bother
I’ll do what I do best...
Disappear

So if you ever wonder why
You don’t see me anymore
It’s because I won’t ask
And I lost you 

I just wanted you to know
That I cared
And I tried 
But still...
I couldn’t hide...
