Invasion

It all started as creeks of the woods and cries of birds
Into the highest sky, they dispersed as flu
Now my eyes are heavy, opened into the daylight
Even so bright the day, I still could see nothing

There seems to be peace, I murmured with a grin
But the sky creatures called me a liar
The woods joined to dare my intelligence
With a concerned look I bolt my door

I can hear familiar sound, now so clear
No longer of the woods that mocked my thoughts
Nor flaps of birds, they are lost into the sky
It is so familiar, yet so rare a sound

The sound of hatred, I dare to believe
The thuds so clear as a match to war
We are not at war, I assured myself
The greatest mistake I ever made

Cries cries, that of girls and babies
More of the cries, now so mature
They have come to end us all in our own lands
They don't know me, so why would they care

After the raiding, they now take charge
For into slaves they turned the undead
Our home is lost, my life is theirs
I hope this is a dream which I can wake from

Well, it is no dream, neither yet real
This is the future that we can not outrun
Where would you hide, could you take me along?
For this is the invasion, the long awaited death.
